So here's the story...
I'm at a massage that my wife gifted to me (at age 37 I've really learned to appreciate this gift), and I think to myself how much I envy the massage therapist. I'd really love to quit my engineering job and be a massage therapist, but I can't figure out how make enough money. So, as engineers tend to do, I start running the numbers. How many clients per day and at what rate to cover my current salary? I quickly realize that it would be a fair number of clients per day, and I'd have to be a high class therapist... (between $100 to $150/hour) Darn!!!
But wait... Places that charge that kind of money exist and they cater to high class clientel and vacationers, right? The locations are spacious, fashioned with beautiful furniture and accents, and are focused on relaxing their clients. Then it occurs to me, my wife and I rent a beautiful house, with an amazing view of orchards, vineyards, a horse ranch, and beautiful estates on the outskirts of Montetico. It's secluded enough for client privacy, just around the corner for Montecito clients, and a beautiful drive (Hwy 192) for Santa Barbara vacationers. The birds chirp here and we have more baby bird nests than we know - they fly feet from us when we're on our patio. The house gets fantastic sun and it does amazing things in the mist/low-hanging-clouds. We've got the perfect location!!! BUT... I'm not even a certified therapist and it'll be a long while until I'd even be in the same league as the kind of expertd worthy of $100/hr. Darn!!!
BUT WAIT... What if we found someone that is that expert but is looking for the right location. Someone that can run their own business and someone we could trust. Someone we could learn from over time and someone that has a ideas and a vision for mutual success.
Now here's the deal...
First, TRUST. If you're interested in exploring this idea with us, you'll need to submit to a background check - criminal, financial, etc.
Second, QUALITY. You'll need to privide certifications, have references, and a solid history in the profession. Remember, for this to be mutually beneficial we'll be looking for guidance on the difference between excellent service versus average service and how to build clientelle.
Third, VISION. Remember, we're looking to explore the opportunity of changing our lifestyle. We want to grow a business.
Forth, Compensation. Our space won't be free. Not sure what it's worth yet though?
We're likely to have this ad up for a month or two to interview interested folks.
That's pretty much it...
Check out the pictures of the space we're considering, the view, and the strange people making this offer. If you're interested give me (Ty) a call – 303.589.9052
